Sunday, January 10, 2010

ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery is welcoming Powerball to Georgia with an exciting contest. Produce a 30-second TV ad about Powerball coming to Georgia, and your spot could air throughout Georgia during the broadcast of the biggest football game of the year on Feb. 7.

The "Powerball: Lights, Camera, Action" grand prize winner also will receive $5,000 and a mini-handheld HD camcorder.

Four second prize winners will win a mini-handheld HD camcorder.

Submissions should be funny, exciting and creative. The entry deadline is Jan. 22.

Visit www.powerballtvad.com for official rules and to submit videos.

Powerball tickets go on sale in Georgia on Jan. 31.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
